An isometric-view heli-shooter, not bad at all - just leave out the idiotic story. That banal premise has probably been played to death by the many follow-ups, without adding anything to the game. Despite cliche premise (part of the war effort in the Gulf, yada yada yada), the game is a lot of fun. Your helicopter has various weapons and a winch, which can be used to pickup ammo, fuel, armor, and even POW's. Missions range from rescue to seek and destroy, and the game switches objectives often enough that it never becomes boring. The maps are huge, and full of interesting power-ups, secrets, and various ground-based enemies. You can blow up most things, including buildings, and the graphics are superior to most games at the time. Overall, a great game for all fans of shooters which might even appeal to flight sim gamers. The successor Jungle Strike is also available at this site.

In Jungle Strike you're mainly controlling the prototype helicopter "Comanche". In some missions, you can also use a hovercraft, a motorbike, or a F117 fighter. The controls in this shoot-em up are very easy and straightforward. As in most arcade shooters, you must collect new ammo, armor and fuel while fighting land, sea, and air-based enemies. In a nod to hard-core flight sims, all missions contain several sub-objectives, which have to be fulfilled in a given order. Most missions are set in either a jungle or city area. With a good combination of arcade and sim elements, Jungle Strike is highly recommended for fans of the genre. If you like Safari's games (e.g. Seek & Destroy) but wish they were more sim-oriented in terms of having mission objectives and depletable fuel, Desert Strike is the answer.

Command & Conquer: Red Alert 2 is a real-time strategy video game which was released for Microsoft Windows on October 23, 2000 as the follow-up to Command & Conquer: Red Alert. Red Alert 2 picks up at the conclusion of the Allied campaign of the first game. Its expansion is Command & Conquer: Yuri's Revenge. Command and Conquer: Red Alert 2 contains two playable factions, the Soviets and the Allies, which both previously appeared in Command & Conquer: Red Alert. The single player campaign is structured in an alternate-ending mode as opposed to a progressive story mode. Red Alert 2 was a commercial and critical success, receiving an 86% from GameRankings. After the attempted conquest of Europe depicted in Command & Conquer: Red Alert, the Soviet Union is in utter ruin. Joseph Stalin is dead, and the Soviet military has been all but destroyed. The Allies determine that a regime change would cause mass unrest in the Soviet Union, and in order to gain both support and stability in the region, the victorious Allies name Alexander Romanov, a distant relative of Tsar Nicholas II, as the puppet Soviet Premier. Romanov acquiesces to the Allies' demands at first, though he builds up the Soviet military for "defense purposes" – a cover for an intended invasion of the United States. The game's story line starts off in 1972, with the United States Armed Forces caught completely off guard by the sudden massive Soviet invasion of the United States, with Soviet aircraft, naval vessels, amphibious forces, and paratroopers coming in on both the East Coast and West Coast and with the majority of Soviet ground forces coming in through Mexico, which had recently voted in a communist government, starting World War III. The U.S. attempts to retaliate with the use of nuclear missiles, but Yuri, leader of the Soviet Psychic Corps and Premier Romanov's top advisor, uses his mind control to manipulate the personnel charged with launching the warheads and leaves them to explode in their silos. Within hours, the U.S. is overrun with Soviet Army troops. In response, the U.S. President Michael Dugan establishes an emergency response team headed by General Dan Carville and the Commander known as "The Ghost" (the player) to the Soviet army later in the game. Note You might need to follow this tutorial (on reddit) to get the game running on newer systems like Windows 10.

This impressive add-on to the fun and frantic Red Alert 2 does what other great real-time strategy expansion packs, such as The Conquerors for Age of Empires II and Brood War for Starcraft, have done before--it makes an already great game even better, not only by piling on new features, but also by adding enough significant enhancements that the result stands out as being not just broader than its predecessor, but legitimately different. That means Yuri's Revenge will more than likely renew your interest in Westwood's over-the-top game. Many of Yuri's units are very interesting. His Gatling tanks fire faster and faster upon their targets--if you can protect them long enough, they'll eventually be dishing out huge damage at a tremendous rate of fire. These flimsy units can be great for defense from within Yuri's tank bunkers--immobile fortifications that let his tanks fire on attackers without fear of retaliation. Meanwhile, the mastermind unit, a strange tanklike vehicle, can automatically mind-control any enemy unit that crosses its path--it mind-controls units automatically, but the catch is that it starts short-circuiting if it mind-controls more than three. Yuri also commands legions of Incredible Hulk-like mutants called brutes, which can go toe-to-toe with enemy tanks. He has defensive structures that automatically mind-control groups of units that enter their sphere of influence--truly an imposing obstacle. Plus, he's got a very nasty nuclear submarine in his arsenal. Altogether, Yuri's new faction is very different from those of the Soviets and the Allies--even his ore harvester, called the slave miner, is nothing like the harvesters for the other sides. It's a self-contained refinery, and slave units automatically shovel ore into this armed platform to fuel Yuri's war effort. Like the other two factions, Yuri's side has a lot of personality and largely consists of units that are well designed, memorable, and worth using in most any battle. Yuri's forces are physically weak when directly compared with those of the Allies and Soviets--but they can be used to devious effect. Note Command & Conquer: Yuri's Revenge is an addon for Command & Conquer: Red Alert 2, you will need the original game to play. Note 2 You might need to follow this tutorial (on reddit) to get the game running on newer systems like Windows 10.

    KKnD Xtreme

    15 downloads

KKnD Xtreme can be described as the humorous cousin of C&C. While it is not all that different from Westwood's blockbuster, the fantastic humor and good unit balance makes the game much more deserving of attention than its sales figures would suggest. If you love RTS games with a campy sense of humor and don't mind graphical similarities to C&C, KKnD Xtreme is well worth your time. Highly recommended!

DOSBox This game requires DOSBox emulator. Get it here Hard to find any flaw in Theme Hospital, the game was critically acclaimed and had a lot of success. Graphics are cartoonish and very well animated, diseases are totally hilarious (especially the descriptions) and a really funny multiplayer mode: Up to 4 players can compete with their own hospital, close to the others. Everyone share the same community of sick people and the goal is to make more money than the others. VIP patients are proposed to everyone simultaneously, the quickest player to accept will get it. You may also refuse difficult patients and send them to another hospital to overload them, but should they manage them, they will make more money! When buying a new square of land, a bidding competition starts, allowing you to make your competitors to spend more. You can also create a salary war to debauch the employees of the other hospitals. Another vicious weapon: "dirty bombs" you can send to your competitors. They take some time to blow up, but if the player spot it, he can send it to another hospital and so on until it blows!
