Conan is a third-person action-adventure game with the majority of the action being real time hack and slash combat, though you also have to solve puzzles in the game. The player can acquire up to 14 different weapons and learn new fighting techniques similar to other role-playing video games. There are more than 70 levels, spanning from volcanoes to jungles, in which Conan faces 12 bosses and collects pieces of a legendary Atlantean sword. There was a multiplayer mode via Xbox Live before it went offline, where players could compete in three different game modes, play in more than 16 different maps, and had 16 different characters to play as. The events take place in the mythical era from the original books and comics known as the "Hyborian Age". When Conan sees his home village of Grannach burnt to the ground by the mysterious Vulture cult, he begins his quest for revenge against them.

ScummVM This requires the ScummVM emulator. You can get it here. Maniac Mansion Deluxe is a superb remake of one of the best adventure games of all time. Ron Gilbert's wacky and revolutionary masterpiece comes to life as never before in this Windows version lovingly crafted by fans: sporting improved SCUMM point-and-click interface, digitized sound effects, and gorgeous 256-color VGA graphics. Created by the same team that gave us The New Adventures of Zak McKracken, LucasFan this time did not give us a new storyline, but recreated the story and gameplay of LucasFilm's original game that is 100% faithful Everything from the characters' wisecracks, object descriptions, multiple solutions, and multiple endings are all here to delight a whole new generation of adventure gamers. If you have played the original (and if you have been playing adventure games since the 1980s but never played this one, shame on you ;)), stop reading this now and go get it - you will marvel at Ron Gilbert's ingenuity all over again. If you have never played the original, you are in for a real treat. This excellent (and deservedly gushing) review at MobyGames says it all about why a game made in 1987 remains better than most adventure games made over a decade later: "Few games can claim to be a revolution in every aspect of it's genre, few games that is, aside from Maniac Mansion. From interface, to plotline, to graphics, to design, etc... MM managed to become the holy grail of adventure games and it's influence can still be felt to this day.

Snow flurries surround you while playing as Santa in this comical game. Santa has discovered trouble once again while trying to deliver packages to all the good boys and girls. It's your mission to get him back on track before the night is over. The game definitely has a holiday theme with the music and the decorations. You'll see a few shoppers who are out and about trying to find the perfect gift as well as a few children who might need to go on the naughty list. Homes feature children getting ready for bed and cookies being made in the hopes that Santa will arrive on time. While dressed as Santa, you have to complete obstacles to get as many toys in your bag as possible. Some of them are clearly seen on trails, and there are some that are hiding and rather difficult to find. There are challenges that seem a bit tricky as Santa has to get over ice spots and avoid evil penguins. After you collect the presents, you have to take them to the homes to deliver them by going down a chimney. Some of the fireplaces haven't been put out, making it hard to get inside the house except for maneuvering around the fire. If you happen to fall while getting the presents or making deliveries, then it will make it hard to get to the next level.

Backyard Basketball offers two primary modes of gameplay: Single Game, which allows the player to select a team to compete against a computer-controlled team, and Season Play, which allows the player to select a team to compete against a series of computer-controlled teams over an 18-game season, including two best-of-three playoff series and a best-of-five championship series should the player achieve a large number of victories. The Single Game mode also allows the player to compete against a second player or to practice using a single character. Before games can occur, the player has the option to modify a variety of settings. These include court selection, A.I. difficulty (easy, medium, or hard), the presence of certain rules (fouls, fatigue, violations, shot control, and power-ups), sound options (game music, background sounds, and in-game dialogue), controls, and team names. Team modification also involves the customization of jerseys. The game’s controls are set to mouse usage by default, capitalizing on a point & click style of gameplay to move characters around. The game is also compatible with keyboards and game pads.

    Opera

    Version 2018

    0 downloads

With so much attention focused on Chrome, Firefox, and Edge, it would be easy to forget that Opera even exists. But it does, and the fact that it has been somewhat overshadowed by three big rivals is no reason to think it's not worth checking out. Opera is based on Chromium, but the look is different to just about everything else on the market. Making use of the fact that monitors are widescreen, Opera maximizes the amount of vertical space it has to display web sites by featuring a sidebar to the left of the screen to provide access to bookmarks, history and other options, freeing up the top of the screen. The sidebar is also home to shortcuts to apps such as Facebook Messenger, Telegram and WhatsApp, which is a very nice touch. There's an integrated news reader, and Opera can be expanded through the use of extensions. There are thousands of add-ons available, and you can even use Chrome plugins if you can't find a native extension that does what you need. Open a new tab and the customizable Speed Dial provides access to a search function and your favourite websites. The look of the browser is pleasingly customisable too, thanks to a dark theme option and the ability to change background images. User experience You don’t have to spend long using Opera to wonder quite why it is you don’t hear more about the browser – even if it is a little quirky. There are no traditional menus needed for daily use: click the bookmarks button, or history, and it loads in a browser tab. There is a menu that's somewhat hidden under the Opera button but you'll probably never need it. As with Firefox and Chrome, you can synchronize bookmarks and settings between computer – or even the mobile version of the browser – and there are so many extra features (ad blocking, VPN and data compression to name but three), it puts other browsers to shame. Everything feels wonderful speedy and slick as well, and the pop out video player that lets you keep browsing while a video continues to play – and remains visible – is just brilliant. Truly inspiring stuff.

    Vivaldi

    Version 1.15.1147.64

    0 downloads

The Good Fast Lot’s of settings Fully customizable The bad No sync of bookmarks, passwords or anything between devices. Vivaldi, which is based on the same technology as Google Chrome, is a fully customizable open source browser. It's not as fast as some of its rivals, but its developers are adding innovative new features with every release (ever fancied controlling your lighting from your browser?) and everything is fully customizable. Not only can you choose your own shortcuts, alter the main menu design and specify the control panel placement, Vivaldi also lets you arrange browser tabs, letting you place the tabs at the top, bottom, left or right of the screen. You can also hide them altogether and use shortcuts instead. If you're prone to keeping lots of tabs open, Vivaldi lets you stack and group them to make navigation even easier. Save your favourite tabs after a session, ready to reload any time. A built-in browser notification function makes it easy to create memos. Vivaldi then takes a screen shot of your desktop and adds it to your memo automatically. You can use Vivaldi to access the Chrome Web Store, and you can use Chrome add-ons to expand Vivaldi with a host of extra functions. Vivaldi lets you build your own browser that suits the way you like to browse the web, and the whole process is broken into manageable steps that even a complete newcomer could follow. First, you're prompted to choose a color scheme and tab position (along the top, the bottom, or either side), which will determine the overall look of Vivaldi. Positioning tabs along the side might seem odd, but the extra space means there's room for a preview in each one, making them easier to navigate. Once that's done, you're ready to start setting up your homepage. This can be any website you like, or you can use a tool called Speed Dial to create a set of tiles for quick access to your favorite sites. It's much like a Favorites menu, but more convenient. Bookmarks and downloads are accessible via a narrow navigation bar on the left called the Panel, which can be collapsed using a little switch at the bottom. Here you'll also find a notes tool that works much like a text-only version of Evernote, enabling you to jot down thoughts while you browse. You can also add site links to the Panel, which open alongside the main browser window. This is a particularly good way to keep an eye on your Twitter feed. At the bottom of the Panel you'll find Vivaldi's main settings icon. As you'd expect, the options here are extensive. Some of the most significant are: keyboard, where you can define your own shortcuts; mouse, for setting gestures; and privacy, including phishing protection. If you're on a slow connection, you can toggle images off using the small picture icon at the bottom left. The double arrow icon beside this offers a range of filters and effects. Some of these (like highlight focus and the CSS debugger) have a clear purpose, whereas others (like the 3D effect that skews the page to create a 'turning' effect) are just for fun. Finally, visiting vivaldi://extensions to access to the Chrome web store, where you can install any add-on built for Google's web browser. Extension icons will appear to the right of the browser's search box. The whole process is surprisingly engaging, and you can easily spend hours tweaking and customizing Vivaldi. If you're tired of the usual web browsers and think you could do better, Vivaldi is well worth a look.

The gameplay formula introduced in the original Zoo Tycoon in 2001 received updates throughout the series, but its theme and main motifs remain unchanged: Players must build, expand, and/or upgrade a zoo by purchasing animals, creating suitable animal habitats, and allocate staff and resources for animal maintenance and care. As the ultimate goal of the game is revenue, players must also provide for visitors by building food/drink stands, sanitary facilities, picnic areas, and an aesthetically pleasing environment. Higher revenue is generated by keeping both animals and visitors happy. If the animals are released from their enclosure, they can kill the visitors. Zoo Tycoon features three modes: Scenario, Challenge, and Freestyle. The Scenario mode puts players in control of a preset scenario in which they have to accomplish multiple objectives within a time period. New items are unlocked as the scenario progresses. The Challenge mode, first introduced in Zoo Tycoon 2, resembles the Scenario mode in that the player is in a preset scenario with limited funds and must accomplish certain goals. It differs in that this mode is not progressive. The Freestyle mode differs in each game, but usually leaves the player free to build a zoo from scratch however they see it.

    Fallout 2

Set eighty years after the end of the first game, this post-apocalyptic role-playing odyssey builds on the story of the Vault Dweller. The backstory is simple. Cast out by his or her own people, the hero of Vault 13 wandered the Wastes for a while before founding the village of Arroyo. By the time Fallout 2 begins, little remains of the legendary founder but collective memories, an old blue and yellow vault suit, a barely-functioning Pip Boy, and a water flask. Unfortunately, the village is dying; the crops are withered and the wells are running dry. The solution? Send you, the player and lineal descendent of the Vault Dweller, on a quest to find the one object that can save Arroyo: the G.E.C.K., or Garden of Eden Creation Kit. Naturally, no one has the foggiest idea of where one might find a G.E.C.K., other than that it might be best to scout out another vault to see if anyone happened to have an unused one lying about. Armed only with a spear, the vault suit of your forefather or mother and a genuine Vault 13 water flask, it’s your job to scour the wastelands looking for salvation in a suitcase. And scour you will, all over northern California and Nevada. There are a lot of places to visit in Fallout 2, though few are critical to the main plot. Just as in the original game, however, you’ll want to buff up your character through a lot of side quests before tackling the nastier bits of the main story. Gameplay

Note Requires ISO emulator. Not tested on Windows 10. During the 1980s, Interplay left its mark on computer role-playing through a classic called Wasteland. Universally hailed for its then superior gameplay, Wasteland threw players into a dreary, vast, post-apocalyptic world where mutants, blood-thirsty gangs, and radiation-scarred madmen roamed the land. It’s then probably no surprise that Interplay decided to revisit this desolate but attractive setting with Fallout. And the result is one of the finest role-playing games around. During the introduction, we learn that the player character is one of the “lucky” few who have survived inside a massive nuclear bunker. Yet, after seventy years of isolation, time is beginning to run out for the vault-dwellers; the chip that controls the Vault’s water purification system has given out and supplies are running desperately low. With only 150 days left before the remaining water runs out, the leader of the Vault asks you to journey into the hostile wastelands to find a replacement chip. Gameplay

Yes, you can kill with Voodoo dolls in Blood 2 Hellbent on being ultra-violent and generally disagreeable, Blood 2 follows the original game but sets the action some one hundred years into the future, incorporating lots of sci-fi imagery in the process. Visually, this game is miles away from its Build-powered predecessor, using Monolith’s patented LithTech engine (the same one used in No One Lives Forever and Shogo). As a result, Blood II is practically bursting with vibrant colors and neat environmental effects, like fire, smoke, and, of course, blood. Buckets of blood actually, as this coupled with the game’s dark humor are the only things differentiating it from any other shooter. Levels are typically linear affairs, involving simple ‘go here and activate this or that’ sort of gameplay that proceeds you into the following level. Again, this game makes no attempt at redefining the genre, but it looks good, sounds good and plays fairly well. The music in particular feels surreal at times and fits perfectly with some of the more macabre imagery. Even so, the polished visuals do lose out to the previous Blood’s much more gritty appearance, which could nauseate at a moment’s notice. The LithTech engine’s more crispier, colorful visual presentation struggles throughout in this regard. Gone are the robe wielding cultists of old, as Blood II pits you against fanatics wearing Armani suits alongside a multitude of supernatural creatures, like the axe-wielding zombie or the facehugger-like Bone Leech (reminiscent to the disembodied hand that strangles you, also returning here as well). While enemies usually make for tricky target practice, this is usually due to their almost perfect aim than acute intelligence. Their pathfinding seems particularly atrocious, with brain-dead zombies stopping in their tracks at the mere sight of any obstacles. You’ll typically take damage whenever you have a cultist within your sights, and these guys have a tendency to gang up at every corner. Even when taking hits, foes still manage to shoot back with uncanny aim, regardless of whether you’re strafing, crouching or jumping. Although not inherently a terrible thing, you’ll also notice how very easily enemies tend to gib, almost as if they were blood-filled helium balloons waiting to get popped. There’s little satisfaction in smearing bad guys all over the walls when just a couple of bullets can turn them into red wallpaper. At a total of twenty guns, you’ll eventually be forced to drop obsolete boomsticks for better hardware, and some of the best explosive weapons do indeed rock. At the end of it all, Blood II offers quite a prolonged splatterfest through a colorful, grim alternate universe. It’s quite a long ride, laden with crimson trails, explosions, insane cultists and lots of hot lead. Yet at the end of it all, one might be left asking… was there a point? Gameplay
